Steven S. Yamin is the co-founder and co-managing partner of M&Y Personal Injury Lawyers. Steve is a personal injury lawyer in Los Angeles and has dedicated his legal career to his goal of representing the interests and protecting the rights of individuals who have been physically injured as a result of the negligence of another party.
Through Steve’s guidance and dedication, the firm has successfully represented thousands of clients and obtained verdicts and settlements of over $400 million for its clients.
Steve has been recognized by numerous legal publications, including Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Super Lawyers magazine and National Trial Lawyers, for the results he has obtained on behalf of his clients. Steve has been named a “Super Lawyer” – an award given to only 2.5% of attorneys.
Steve has also been recognized as a Top 40 under 40 trial lawyer and Top 100 trial lawyer in the country. His results have also been published in the Verdict Search publication for a $1,000,000 settlement he obtained during trial. The firm has obtained results for its clients included in the Top 100 Jury Verdicts Nationwide by Best of the Bar and Top 20 Trucking Verdicts by TopVerdicts.com.
Steve recently led M&Y Personal Injury Lawyers to becoming the first ever law firm to partner with the Los Angeles Kings National Hockey League team. The ground-breaking and unprecedented partnership was designed to bring even more aid and awareness to California injury victims through the use of multi-media platforms and community events.
The partnership brought together two of LA’s most winningest organizations in an effort to reach even more Angelenos and Californians and help those injured by the negligence of others get the justice they deserve.
Steve chose to practice personal injury law and help those in need, in part, because he was once one of the very people he now represents. Steve himself was seriously injured in a horrific accident as an adolescent, sustaining several fractures and undergoing multiple surgeries, including a spine fusion surgery, and spending several months in the hospital as a 16-year-old boy.
Steve understands that personal injury victims are often the most vulnerable people who need legal representation the most and he has made it his life mission to champion and defend the rights of individuals, similarly situated as he once was, against billion-dollar insurance companies seeking to take advantage of such innocent victims.
Steve has represented wrongful death heirs and Plaintiffs throughout the state of California that have been injured in every conceivable type of accident involving the negligence of another party. These include, but are not limited to, car accidents, motorcycle accidents, boating accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability cases, brain injury cases, and animal attacks.
Steve works tirelessly to ensure each and every client gets just compensation and all necessary medical treatment so that they are made whole from the losses they sustained as result of the accident.
Prior to co-founding M&Y Personal Injury Lawyers, Steve worked at a boutique real estate law firm in west Los Angeles. While there, Steve represented CIM Group, Inc. (the former owner and developer of the Hollywood & Highland Center and the Kodak Theater) and CBRE (Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis, a global leader in commercialreal estate services and investments), among other large commercial real estate developers.
Steve received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2004 and graduated Cum Laude with Order of the Coif Honors. While at Loyola Law School, Steve served as judicial extern to the Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr. of the United States District Court, Central District of California, and was also an extern at the Disability Rights Legal Center, a non-profit organization representing the rights of people with disabilities through advocacy, education, and litigation.
Steve was also awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for achieving the highest course grade in Wills & Trusts, an accomplishment that still serves him today when representing wrongful death heirs in seeking justice and compensation for the loss of their loved ones.
