ToggleWoman Critically Injured After Car Crashes into Yard of South LA Home
Two vehicles possibly racing may have caused another vehicle to crash into the yard of a home in South Los Angeles and critically injure a woman on Tuesday.
The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near 135th and San Pedro Streets, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. A woman was critically injured and had to be extricated from the vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital where she underwent surgery.
CHP said a Saturn and a Chevy Tahoe were possibly street racing when the Tahoe veered over and hit another vehicle, a Toyota Rav4. The impact pushed the Rav4 which then crashed into the yard of a home on the corner, demolishing the fence before landing a few feet in front of the house.
The occupants in the Chevy Tahoe attempted to flee the accident on foot, but were detained by police. The Saturn fled the accident and was not located, according to CHP.
