Head-on collision on Leveroni at Arnold injures 2

A two-car collision on Leveroni Road approaching Arnold Drive did extensive damage to both vehicles, and sent the driver of one to Santa Rosa Memorial by helicopter.

At about 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, a white Chevy Camaro westbound on Leveroni began weaving, and crossed over into the approaching lane, where it collided head-on with a full-size black Toyota Highlander, according to a witness. The impact caused major front-end damage to both vehicles, and pushed the Camaro into the ditch at the north side of the road, the SUV against the opposite guardrail.

Responding officers from the CHP, Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue and the Schell-Vista Fire Department tended to the injured driver of the white sedan, a 31-year-old resident of Boyes Hot Springs, Isais Cagal. He was evacuated by CHP helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with head injuries and multiple fractures of his left arm.

Cagal was arrested t the hospital and charged with suspicion of driving under the influence and causing injury.

The driver of the SUV, Sereima Rasuvi of San Rafael, 55, suffered moderate injuries in the collision. She was taken by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Health Center in Napa.

Traffic moving in both directions was blocked for approximately an hour. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
