Dev is a civil litigation trial attorney at M&Y Personal Injury Attorneys, where he advocates for individuals who have been injured due to the negligence of others. Drawing on his experience as a former insurance defense attorney, Dev brings valuable insight into the strategies insurers use to minimize liability, allowing him to effectively advocate for his clients and maximize the value of their cases. He is committed to guiding clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives with clarity, compassion, and relentless advocacy.

About Dev Patel
What further sets Dev apart is his personal understanding of what many of his clients are experiencing. Having been involved in prior car accidents himself, Dev understands firsthand the stress, uncertainty, and disruption these incidents can cause. This perspective allows him to approach every case with both professional skill and genuine empathy, ensuring each client feels heard, informed, and supported throughout the legal process.
Before joining M&Y Personal Injury Attorneys, Dev represented insurance companies in high-stakes litigation, where he developed a deep understanding of defense tactics, case evaluation, and litigation strategy. His prior experience includes roles at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith in the general liability group, as well as at Mullen & Filippi and Fred Loya Insurance. He also served as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Jefferson County, Idaho.
Dev earned his Bachelor of Science in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology from Brigham Young University–Idaho and his Juris Doctor from the University of La Verne College of Law. During law school, he served as President of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and was recognized as a Student of Merit. He was also named to the Dean’s List.
Driven by a passion for advocacy and client service, Dev approaches every case with diligence, determination, and compassion. He understands that behind every claim is a person whose life has been disrupted, and he is dedicated to helping clients navigate the legal process with confidence while pursuing the best possible outcome on their behalf.
Dev is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in California and Arizona, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Gujarati, and Hindi.
Outside of his practice, Dev is active in his local community and bar associations. He is a member of Temescal Palms Lodge #314 in Corona, California. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing, scuba diving, and spending time with his wife, children, and dog, Athena.
