Community Unites for Woman Who Lost Leg in Tragic Boating Accident
The Bayville community has come together to support a local resident who was critically hurt after being struck by a boat propeller in August.
Edyta Regnowski had her right leg amputated following the traumatic boating accident between Cove Neck and Cold Spring Harbor.
To support her long road to recovery, the local community is invited to participate in a fundraising event at Mill Creek Tavern, located at 275 Bayville Ave. in Bayville, on Sunday Oct. 25 from noon to 4 p.m.
Rich Cutler, the owner of Mill Creek Tavern, has been generating support from local businesses to assist Edyta.
Residents will be able to participate in a Chinese-auction raffle at the Mill Creek benefit.
More than 40 items have already been contributed to the fundraiser, including gift certificates to local restaurants, markets, clothing stores and salons, kids’ toys, entertainment nights nearby and in New York City and more.
Admission to Edyta’s fundraiser is $30 for adults and $15 for children (12 and under.) The cost includes a barbecue buffet, soft drinks, live music, face painting for kids and a cash bar.
